Shipping rates with carrier, delivery days and weight

· 3 min read
Hola Tienda

Your assistant can now charge shipping by the weight of the order, tell the customer which carrier takes it and in how many days, and offer alternatives when there is more than one rate for their city.

How to turn it on

Everything starts in the Catalog tab of Smart Sales (before Products). There you find together the country of operation, the weight unit, the product characteristics and the product limit the assistant sees.

The weight unit starts off. While it is off, no weight field shows and everything works as before. Choosing a unit (g, kg, lb or oz) enables the weight fields.

Weight on products and combinations

  • Product: every product row has its weight field.
  • Combination (SKU): each combination can have its own weight, for example a size M shirt heavier than the S. A combination without weight uses the product's.
  • Quick view on the website: the customer sees the product's weight, and it changes when they pick another combination.

If you turn the unit on and some products have no weight, the editor tells you how many are missing. A product without weight counts as zero in the order.

Shipping rates with carrier and days

In the Store tab you can add several rates for the same place. Each one can have:

  • Carrier (optional).
  • Delivery days, minimum and maximum (optional).
  • Up to: the maximum weight that rate accepts (only shown when the weight unit is on).

To delete a rate use the X floating on the top right corner of its card.

What the assistant does

  • It adds up the weight of the order lines and picks the cheapest rate among those that accept that weight; on a tie, the one with fewer days.
  • When there is more than one option, it lists them numbered and the customer chooses by typing the number. If the order changes weight and the chosen rate no longer fits, it explains it and assigns another.
  • It tells the customer the carrier and the days, for example "Servientrega, 2 to 4 business days".
  • If the order weighs more than every rate of the place, it says so.

In the order detail you will see the carrier, the days and the total weight.

In the website editor

The Catalog accordion of the side panel gathers the country of operation, the weight (only when the site has an assistant with Smart Sales active) and the product characteristics.

More changes

  • The AI Store tab is now called Store, and the tabs look more compact on phones.
  • In every assistant editor, removing a row uses the same circled X, on the top right of the row.
